Counselor’s Corner

Mrs. Ally Diesch received her Master’s of Education in school counseling from Georgia State University and her Bachelor’s of psychology from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). This is her second year at McEver Elementary. Previously, she taught English in Japan, served Hispanic children in the Athens and Norcross communities, and helped students with disabilities in Nicaragua.

As a school counselor, Mrs. Diesch works hard to remove barriers from children’s learning, whether they are academic, emotional, or family concerns. She believes a successful school counseling program addresses the academic, personal/social, and career needs of each student. This can best be achieved through the support and collaboration of parents, families, staff, and community members that are engaged in the learning process. For more information about the school counseling program, please check out her teacher site.

Mrs. Diesch works with the students at McEver Elementary in the following ways:

-Classroom lessons

-Small groups

-One-on-one brief counseling

-Teacher/Parent consultations
